Episode Summary

Established by Christ Himself, the Orthodox Church has been in existence from the time of Christ. It has seen persecutions, famines, war, heresy and many other difficulties and events pass it by, while maintaining its mission: to be "the light of the world" for those in darkness.

Today, 21 centuries later, the Orthodox Church is in an unique worldwide position: thriving and vibrant in some parts of the world, persecuted in others.

iEcclesia features the second episode of a three-part series dealing with "Orthodoxy in Today's World"

In regards to relations with other Christian confessions and other faiths, there is a segment in our Church that is very apprehensive and even hostile to any relations whatsoever with those who are not Orthodox. The program begins with Host Father Peter asking His Eminence to explain what is the purpose of the Orthodox Church’s dialogues and relations with the other Christian confessions and with non-Christian faiths. His  Eminence carries an i-phone with him to remind him how much technology has advanced. With all these new advances in technology, His Eminence gives us insight into what is our Church’s stance is on these new advancements and if there are any dangers in embracing them.
