Episode Summary
Every Great Lent, iEcclesia features weekly podcasts, covering a variety of topics related to this very important period of the Church year. These programs are designed to help the listener understand why we celebrate Great Lent, the weekly themes, and concluding with the importance of Holy Week and Pascha. Today’s podcast is the final program in our Great Lent 2009 Series. The program begins with an obvious, and yet perplexing question; who is He, who are we (in this equation) and why did Jesus Christ do this? Then, Fr. Bohdan answers why we are going to church this week and why we are putting so much emphasis on Jesus Christ. The theme of humility has come up many times throughout the Triodion, Great Lent and Holy Week and one of the images that we are faced with in our Churches (along with inside our hearts) on Holy Friday is the image of “the Extreme Humility”, an icon that brings out much sorrow. Our guest answers how today's Christian can emulate this humility, especially in an age where “it's all about me”. Next, Father tells us if Good Friday is simply about sorrow. The program concludes with final comments from our guest.
