Episode Summary

iEcclesia concludes its four part special from last season on In Vitro Fertilization. In the previous episodes, the panel discussed how the Orthodox Church defines life and what it thinks about IVF, what the process of IVF is and the ethical implications surrounding the procedure. Also discussed were the most known complications of In Vitro Fertilization as well as the  ethical and moral  implications of couples freezing their embryos for future use. We looked at the issue of eugenics or the self-direction of human evolution and how it can affect society as well as the other moral issues and their ramifications.

On this concluding episode, the panel discuss the Roman Catholic Church's opposition to IVF due to the fact that it infringes the child's right to be born of a father and mother known to him and bound to each other by marriage. We examine how the Orthodox Church responds to this. The program concludes with final comments from the panel.
