Episode Summary

iEcclesia's in the midst of the pre-Lenten period known as the Triodion and present a curios and often misunderstood topic. It’s been the topic of many books, speeches and even Hollywood films. It’s a popular question because no one really knows the answer. People have tried to guess an answer, but they’ve always been wrong. “Eschatology”, or ‘the study of the end of the world’, is concerned with the final events of humanity, of the ultimate destiny of humankind, or the “end of days”.  Almost every faith has a theology when it comes to the “end times”, with a particular theology being mentioned by Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and other faith groups. The theme of Meatfare Sunday is just that – otherwise known as Judgment Sunday – along with the theme of various prayers, and even the Divine Liturgy. . . Host Patricia Rakopoulos, along with Rev. Dn. Theodore Paraskevopoulos, discuss eschatology from an orthodox Christian perspective.
